Questions About Working Together
If you have read through the Coaching page and still have questions, this is where they get answered. These are the things people most often want to know before they decide whether to reach out.
If your question is not here, the Contact page is the right place to ask it.
About the Programs
Is this coaching done in person or online?
Everything is done online. I work with clients across the country and internationally. For 1:1 coaching, we meet together over video call — I can see you move, cue your form in real time, and coach you through sessions the same way I would in person. The Collective delivers personalized programming through the app with group coaching calls held over video. You do not need to be in Colorado Springs to work with me.
Do I need a gym membership or specific equipment?
No. Your program is built around what you actually have access to. Some clients train in fully equipped commercial gyms. Others train entirely at home with a set of dumbbells and a mat. Some split their time between both. When you start, you tell me your setup and your programming is built from there. If your access changes at any point, the program adjusts with it.
How long are the programs?
There is no fixed end date. Both programs work on a month-to-month basis. That said, the work I do produces its best results over six to twelve months of consistent effort, and that is the commitment I ask people to come in with. Meaningful change in the body, in habits, and in the nervous system does not happen in six weeks. Anyone telling you otherwise is selling you something I cannot deliver on honestly.
Can I try it before committing to a full month?
There is no trial period for either program. What I can offer is transparency before you start. If you have questions about whether this is the right fit, reach out directly before applying. I will give you an honest answer, including telling you if I think it is not the right time or the right program for where you are.
What platform do you use to deliver the programs?
I use a custom version of the Trainerize app to deliver workout programming, track progress, and keep communication organized. You download the app on your phone. Workouts are delivered there, you log sessions, and we can communicate through the app between sessions. It is straightforward and does not require any technical setup beyond downloading the app and logging in.
About the Process
What happens after I apply?
I read every application personally, usually within 48 to 72 hours. If it looks like a strong fit, I will reach out directly to schedule a conversation. That call is not a sales call. It is a real conversation about where you are and whether the work I do is what you actually need. If I do not think it is the right fit, I will tell you that directly.
What does the onboarding process look like?
Once we confirm the fit and you enroll, we go through a thorough intake process before any programming is built. I need to understand your full picture: your history with training and food, your injury history, your schedule, your stress load, your sleep, and what you have tried before. The program is built from that information, not from a template that gets adjusted slightly. That process takes a day or so before your first session or your first programming block.
How often will we communicate?
For 1:1 clients, we meet together regularly over video and you have direct access to me between sessions through the app. For The Collective, communication happens through group coaching calls, the community, and the app. Neither program leaves you guessing about what to do or waiting days for a response when something comes up.
What if I need to pause or cancel?
Life happens. If something significant comes up, reach out directly and we will figure out the right path forward. Month-to-month means you are not locked into a long-term contract. I ask for reasonable notice if you need to pause or cancel — the specifics are in the program agreement you sign at enrollment.
About the Approach
How is this different from hiring a personal trainer at a gym?
A gym trainer works with you during your sessions and hands you a plan. What I do is not limited to the sessions. It includes the full picture of what is happening in your body and your life: your training, your nutrition, your recovery, your nervous system, the psychological patterns underneath the stall. The sessions are part of it. So is everything between them. Most gym trainers are not trained in behavior change, nervous system regulation, or the integrated work that determines whether physical results actually hold. I am.
I have a complicated relationship with food and my body. Is this still the right place?
Yes, and I want to name it directly because a lot of coaches skip this. I have trained in nervous system regulation and behavior change specifically because so many of the people I work with carry a history with food, body image, or past coaching that left a mark. That is part of why the work I do is different from a standard training program. We address what is actually going on, not just the surface-level goal. If this is part of your picture, include it in your application. It will not disqualify you. It will shape how we approach the work.
Do you work with people who have injuries or chronic pain?
I work with injury history regularly and it is part of the intake process for every client. I build around what your body needs, not around a standard template that ignores what has happened to it. That said, I am a coach, not a physical therapist or physician. If something requires medical attention or hands-on rehab, I will tell you that clearly and refer you to the right professional. The two can and often do work alongside each other.
Is this only for people who are already fit?
No. I work with people at very different starting points, from deconditioned beginners to competitive athletes to people coming back from injury or a long break. What matters is not your current fitness level. What matters is that you are ready to approach this seriously and stay with it through the process. The programming starts exactly where you are.
Do you offer nutrition coaching?
Yes, and it is built into both programs. Nutrition coaching here is not a meal plan to follow or a macro target to hit forever. It is practical guidance built around how you actually live, what your body actually needs, and how to build a sustainable relationship with food over time. It is one part of the whole picture, not a separate add-on.
About the Investment
Why does 1:1 coaching cost $2,000 per month?
Because of what it actually includes. Five spots, fully personalized programming, live video sessions for workouts and coaching, direct access between sessions, and the full depth of integrated work that most coaching programs do not touch. The price reflects the level of access, the depth of the work, and the real constraint on my time and capacity. I would rather take on five clients I can genuinely serve well than twenty I cannot.
Is The Collective worth it if I have a lower budget?
The Collective exists specifically for people who want serious, personalized coaching without the 1:1 investment. The programming is genuinely personalized, the group coaching calls are substantive, and the community is made up of people who are taking this seriously. It is not a lower-quality version of 1:1. It is a different structure with a different level of access. Whether it is worth it depends on what you need. If you are self-directed and do not need daily one-on-one contact, it is the right fit.
Do you offer refunds?
Because coaching is a collaborative process that begins immediately at enrollment, refunds are not available after the program has started. If you have questions about this before enrolling, ask them before you commit. I would rather you take the time to make sure this is right for you than enroll and regret it.
